92 Points, Wine Spectator, 2010

"Packed with melted licorice snap, hoisin sauce, plum cake and fig notes, backed by a long, broad, muscular, but supple-textured finish. Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon."

92 Points, Robert Parker, 2009

"The 2007 Beso de Dante is a blend of 55% Malbec and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 12 months in 70% new French oak before bottling without fining or filtration. It emits an alluring bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, violets, black currant, and black cherry. Dense, spicy, and concentrated on the palate, this full-bodied effort has layers of savory fruit, enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years, and a lengthy finish. Drink it from 2011 to 2022."

91 Points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, 2010

"Full ruby. Very ripe, slow-to-open nose eventually reveals complex aromas of black raspberry, chocolate and clove. Fat, sweet and pliant, with a creamy quality to the dark fruit and sweet oak flavors. Shows a bit more lift than the 2006, along with lovely depth and ripeness. The cabernet element adds firmness to the wine's tannins. Broad and long on the back end. Proprietor Laura Catena was among the first producers in Argentina to purchase fruit from small growers by the hectare rather than by the ton."

"There is little Sauvignon Blanc coming out of Argentina but Mapema 2009 Sauvignon Blanc is a fine one by any standard. The wine was aged predominantly in stainless steel but 10% of the wine was aged in new French oak for 3 months. It offers up an excellent bouquet of fresh herbs, citrus, and floral aromas leading to a spicy, savory, concentrated Sauvignon with impeccable balance and plenty of length. Drink it over the next 1-2 years."

Cabernet, Wight Vineyard 2007

Press:

98 Points, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, 2009

"Even more profound is the nearly perfect 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Wight Vineyard. The finest Cabernet I have ever tasted from this estate, it has everything the Napa Cabernet possesses, along with a few more layers, slightly more aromatic and flavor intensity, and a finish that goes on for close to a minute. The tannins are just as sweet, but there are more of them. This is a prodigious Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with all the creme de cassis one could ever want intermixed with charcoal, acacia flowers, licorice, and a hint of background oak. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 2-3 decades. Kudos! One can't say enough about the wines produced at this extraordinary site in Napa Valley. Proprietor Dave Wight continues to turn out sleepers of the vintage that represent some of the greatest bargains in world-class Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon."
